How can I wirelessly synchronize my Windows Mobile phone with Outlook on my PC? - synchronize pro x rapidshare

I have a HTC Touch Pro with Windows Mobile 6 and a laptop with Windows Vista. I want to synchronize contacts and calendars, but can not do it without the use of USB.

I know I have an MS Exchange server are somehow involved, but I'm a little fuzzy, what is it and how a user can enter a home without pay.

Any help would be very grateful.
